RAVING REVIEW: The upcoming American science fiction mystery drama series, THE ARK, is set to debut on Syfy on February 1, 2023. This story follows the trials and tribulations of Ark One, a spacecraft on a mission to find a new planet for humanity to inhabit. When a catastrophic event leads to a massive loss of life, the remaining crew must become their best selves to survive the journey and complete their mission.

Created by Dean Devlin, with Jonathan Glassner serving as co-showrunner, the series stars Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read, and Ryan Adams. Having only viewed the first four episodes of The Ark, which do an excellent job of bringing the story to life and allowing viewers to connect with the characters, I am highly anticipating the rest of the series.

I was impressed with the quality of the effects; at no time did I feel like I was watching a TV show; these were blockbuster-level visuals that would be on par with the most prominent space films of the last decade. Sure, they were used sparingly, but they sold this entire world to you without question when they were on screen.

The cast was spectacular, and you immediately felt at home with the drama of the stories and the back and forth between the characters. It’s not uncommon for a cast to take a few episodes to gel, but I think the series' unique approach helped because these weren’t long-time friends and family but the best of the best from various fields.

Although the concept of the series may not be entirely new, it has been done uniquely and compellingly, which is sure to capture the attention of Syfy audiences. The Ark will surely take you on an exciting and thought-provoking journey.
